Master Plan Project
Project Description
The Master Plan Project is a collaborative initiative between the Government of Nepal, District Forest Office (DFO) Salyan, and DFO Rolpa. The project aims to promote sustainable forest management, community-based natural resource conservation, and livelihood improvement for rural households.
It covers 11 Village Development Committees (VDCs) in Rolpa and 5 VDCs in Salyan, targeting a total of 414 households. With a budget of NPR 1,600,000, the project focuses on developing a strategic forest master plan to enhance conservation, improve resource utilization, and support long-term ecological balance.
The project’s implementation period is from Baisakh 2074 to Bhadra 2074 (April–August 2017). Within this short timeframe, the initiative emphasized participatory planning, stakeholder consultation, and capacity building to ensure that the master plan reflects the needs of the community and aligns with sustainable development goals.
