Project Description

The Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Program is a comprehensive initiative aimed at improving access to safe drinking water, sanitation facilities, and hygiene practices in rural and semi-urban communities of Nepal.

The program is funded and supported by multiple development partners, including the Government of Nepal, USAID, DAI, DFID, SDC, MSFP, LFP, PAF, Canadian Cooperation, DANIDA, UKAID, Swiss Cooperation, and Winrock International.

It is currently being implemented in 10 municipalities of Salyan district and 3 municipalities of Surkhet district. To date, the program has successfully carried out 41 projects, benefiting more than 5,472 households directly.

Through these efforts, the WASH Program has contributed to:

Increasing access to clean and safe drinking water

Improving sanitation and toilet facilities

Enhancing hygiene practices and awareness

Reducing the risk of waterborne diseases

Promoting environmental and community health

The project duration spans from Chaitra 2058 B.S. to Baisakh 2082 B.S., during which the program continues to work closely with local governments, communities, and development partners to ensure sustainable and long-term impact.
