Suspension Bridge Regional Program
Project Description
The Suspension Bridge Regional Program is a collaborative initiative funded by TBSU, District Development Committees (DDC), Rural Municipalities, Government, and NGO partners. The program is designed to enhance rural connectivity, accessibility, and socio-economic development in remote areas of Nepal.
Implemented in the districts of Salyan, Surkhet, Dailekh, Jajarkot, Dang, and Rukum, the project focuses on the construction and maintenance of suspension bridges that link isolated communities with vital services such as markets, schools, health centers, and administrative offices.
The program specifically targets 107 households, aiming to reduce travel time, improve safety, and support livelihoods by enabling easier access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities.
Through participatory planning and collaboration with local governments and communities, the project not only provides infrastructure but also builds local ownership and sustainability for long-term impact. The contract duration covers the agreed project timeline from start to end dates, ensuring efficient implementation and monitoring in coordination with stakeholders.
