Project Description

The Sustainable Integrated Livestock and Agriculture Program is an initiative aimed at improving livelihoods, enhancing agricultural productivity, and promoting sustainable livestock practices in rural communities.

Supported by multiple development partners, including Winrock International, Government of Nepal, APPSP, UNDP, Canadian Cooperation, DFID, and PAF, the program focuses on group-based agricultural support, livestock development, capacity building, and resource management to ensure long-term sustainability and economic resilience.

Implemented in Salyan District, the program has successfully supported 866 groups and 20,784 households, enhancing productivity, income, and food security. With a total budget of NPR 19,685,792, the initiative emphasizes training, technical support, and community participation to strengthen local agriculture and livestock systems.

The project duration spans from 2058 to 2064 (April 2001 – March 2008), aiming to create sustainable and long-term improvements in livelihoods, agricultural practices, and livestock management.
